Saturday nights are quietly becoming my favourite part of the week.A few months ago, I started reading my work aloud to a small group of Ruby Collective Vault patrons over a live link. It was meant to be a one-off. A wee experiment. An excuse to drink wine and read sexy bits to people who'd actually appreciate them.It is now, somehow, a proper thing. The numbers keep climbing, the chat in the breaks has become its own kind of book club, and I've stopped pretending I'm not enjoying myself.So here we are. The next one is Saturday 23rd May, and you're invited.What it isA live online narration evening, hosted by me, for readers who fancy hearing one of the O Collection short stories the way it was meant to be heard. Out loud. In full Ruby voice. Sapphic scenes included, because what's the point otherwise.It's not a webinar. It's not a workshop. It's a Saturday night with a glass of something, a sapphic short story, a bit of banter, and a roomful of readers who all happen to be your kind of people.What you can expectI'll read one of the O stories from start to finish. I'll explain a bit about how it came to be, because every one of these characters has a backstory that came from a reader, and the story behind the story is sometimes as good as the fiction itself.Between the readings there's chat, questions, the occasional confession, and a fair amount of laughing.
